The 47th Annual Run to the Sun, hosted by the Relics and Rods Car Club, once again filled Lake Havasu City with the unmistakable rumble of classic engines and community pride. Featured across multiple articles by Today’s News-Herald, this year’s event captured the heart of Lake Havasu City with a weeklong celebration of vintage vehicles, charitable spirit, and small-town camaraderie.
From the kickoff dinner at London Bridge Resort to the Main Street Gathering and the iconic Show & Shine at Bridgewater Links Golf Course, the event drew hundreds of classic cars and thousands of spectators. Attendees enjoyed everything from the Poker Run and swap meet to a family-friendly Kid Zone, while local volunteers and businesses helped make it all possible.
Special recognition went to dedicated members like Tom Hopple, John View, and Jeff Schneider, each spotlighted by the News-Herald for their years of service, leadership, and love for the street rod community.
As always, proceeds from Run to the Sun support local non-profits and youth programs, continuing the Relics and Rods tradition of giving back while keeping the classic car culture alive and thriving.
Thank you to all participants, sponsors, volunteers, and fans who made this year unforgettable. We’ll see you again next October for the 48th Annual Run to the Sun!

Born out of a passion for classic vehicles, the Run to the Sun car show has evolved from a modest 1978 event into a premier gathering, now drawing over 800 entries.
Initially called "Camp-O-Rama," it began with just 28 vehicles but has grown to feature a diverse array of 1977 and older classic, restored, and hot rod cars and trucks. Also featured are 1978 to current year American Factory Muscles and Corvettes.
